Nashville According to Hannah Crowell

She’s a super-talented interior designer and happens to be country music royalty (Johnny Cash was her grandpa!), so she can sniff out the coolest spots a mile away.

hannahBesides being a dear, old friend, Hannah Crowell is a super-talented interior designer in Nashville (the experts at Domino happen to agree). She has an impeccable eye and a refreshing approach to decor and, well, life that we’re hoping will rub off on us:

There is a beauty in the imperfect, the messy, and the controlled chaos of life. Allow for your life to happen as it will… make it as artful and colorful and comfortable a place possible for it all to unfold within.”

Hannah is super-cool in her own right but happens to be country music royalty too – mom is Roseanne Cash, dad is songwriter Rodney Crowell, and grandfather was the Man in Black himself.

Read on for her favorite Music City haunts.

Favorite Thing About Nashville

I don’t know if people realize what a thriving creative community we have here, which I love. To have that constant creative inspiration and to be nestled in rolling hills is pretty spectacular.

Your Favorite Spot

The Ryman Auditorium

Favorite Playground

Centennial Park is great because you can feed the ducks in the pond, play on the playground, and get BBQ from Hog Heaven all at the same time!

Favorite Rainy Day Haunt With Kids

The Frist has one of my favorite kid’s centers of any museum we have been to. Half of the art around our house is from projects they have done there.

Favorite Coffee Spot

Headquarters on Charlotte Pike is owned by my dear friends and has the best coffee in town!

Favorite Family Breakfast/Brunch Spot

It’s a chain, but we love Bricktop’s. We are there so often they don’t even ask us what we want – they just bring it. The kids love it.

Favorite Restaurant With Kids

Pinewood Social is really fun because they have great food and a really cool bowling alley.

Favorite Date Night Restaurant

Rolf + Daughters hands down.

Favorite Place To Grab A Drink

Sperry’s. It’s old school, affluent Nashville, and the people watching is the best! You will not find a hipster there, which is refreshing.

Favorite Exercise

A hike at Radnor Lake is always beautiful. I also do pilates at Pilates For Everybody in Sylvan Park. I renovated the space so I am a little biased!

Favorite Place To Pick Up Dinner

Martin’s BBQ on Belmont is delicious. We also love Indian take out from Sitar.

Favorite Spa

Private Edition is my favorite place for all things beauty. Chantal is the best aesthetician I have ever been to, and they carry all of my favorite cosmetic and skincare lines. Their in house line, Therapy Systems, is amazing.

Favorite Place for a Treat

I grew up going to Elliston Place Soda Shop for special occasions, and it’s still my favorite. It is truly authentic Nashville. Nothing fancy and the waitresses still call you “hon”.

Favorite Staycation Hotel

We have several new boutique hotels opening soon (Including my favorite 21C), but until then, you can’t go wrong at The Hutton.

Favorite Annual Local Festival

The Tomato Arts Fest in East Nashville is SO much fun for the whole family.

Favorite Kids Shop

Magpies is my favorite kids’ shop! I even buy jewelry for myself there. It’s such a well-curated variety for all ages, and they just opened a shop just for girls next door that is the cutest place on earth.

Favorite Shop for You

I have found some of my favorite dresses at Hero on 12 South. Savant Vintage has so many amazing finds as well.

Favorite Home Store

My friends Ivy and Josh own Wilder in Germantown. It’s really not a safe place for me to stop in… I love everything! I also spend a lot of time in Gaslamp Antique Mall looking for accessories and little bits and pieces for projects.

Favorite Hair Salon & Stylist

I trust Jana at Green Pea or Mark Evans at Trumps.

Favorite Kids Hair Salon

I just walk into Great Clips – they have always done a great job. I spend so much money on my own hair they don’t get anything fancy!

Favorite Florist

Crowell Floral owned by my crazy talented sister Carrie.
